Overview

What is 360 liposuction?

360 liposuction is the contouring of the full midsection circumference in a single operation — abdomen, flanks (love handles) and lower back, with the upper back where indicated. Treating these areas together produces a defined, harmonised silhouette that single-area liposuction cannot achieve.

At Kensington Cosmetic Clinic 360 liposuction is performed personally by Dr Hassan Soueid using power-assisted (PAL) and VASER (ultrasound-assisted) technologies — selected for the patient's tissue, not driven by single-equipment marketing.

We are honest about candidacy. 360 liposuction works best on patients with reasonable skin elasticity and stubborn fat resistant to diet and exercise. Patients with significant skin laxity may need additional skin tightening — sometimes the right answer is abdominoplasty rather than liposuction alone.

The waistline is a frame — defining it transforms the silhouette more than reducing any single area.

Treated Areas

What 360 liposuction covers

Each zone of the midsection has different fat density and skin behaviour. The technique is adjusted area by area within the same operation.

Front (Abdomen)

Upper abdomen

The fat above the navel. Often retained even with weight loss; responsive to liposuction.

Lower abdomen

The fat below the navel — the most-treated area. Where significant skin laxity coexists, abdominoplasty may be a better answer.

Mons pubis

The fat pad above the pubic bone — often combined with lower-abdominal liposuction for a balanced result.

Sides (Flanks)

Love handles

The fat above the iliac crest. Highly responsive to liposuction — defining the waistline here is the single highest-impact part of 360 lipo.

Hip dip area

Selective fat transfer to lateral hip dips can be combined with 360 lipo — addressed in the same anaesthetic.

Bra-line side

Side bra-line fat — often a clothing-line concern. Easily treated alongside flank liposuction.

Back

Lower back

The fat above the buttocks. Treated for a defined sacral hollow and cleaner buttock-to-back transition.

Bra-line back

Upper-back fat that creates the bra-line roll. Small volume but high visual impact in clothing.

Mid-back

Treated where indicated for a continuous, harmonised back contour.

Candidate

Who is 360 liposuction for?

  • Has localised midsection fat resistant to diet and exercise
  • Has reasonable skin elasticity — younger patients respond best to liposuction alone
  • Is at or close to a stable, healthy weight (BMI ideally <30)
  • Is in good general health, a non-smoker, and able to commit to compression for 6 weeks
  • Has realistic expectations — body sculpting, not weight loss

Before

How to prepare

Preparation is identical to standard liposuction. The compression-garment routine for 360 lipo is more demanding because the entire midsection requires support.

  • Stop smoking entirely six weeks before and after — non-negotiable for skin retraction
  • Stop ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil and blood-thinning supplements two weeks before
  • Buy two full-torso compression garments (one for week 1, one for weeks 2–6)
  • Maintain or improve cardiovascular fitness in the weeks before — supports recovery
  • Arrange 10–14 days of clear social downtime
  • Eat well, hydrate, fast from midnight before surgery

The Treatment

What happens on the day

Consultation

Two consultations standard. Honest assessment of skin quality, fat distribution and proportion goals. Standardised photographs from five views.

Surgery

Performed under general anaesthetic in our CQC-registered theatre. Operative time 3–4 hours for full 360.

  • Marking all zones marked with the patient standing, before theatre.
  • Tumescent infiltration saline-and-anaesthetic solution infiltrates all treatment zones.
  • Fat removal via small access incisions hidden in skin folds and waistband line.
  • Closure small absorbable sutures; compression garment applied immediately.

Recovery in clinic

Most patients are discharged the same day or stay one night. First review at 24 hours; lymphatic massage from week 1.

Step by Step

Your patient journey

Full-circumference contouring is a longer operation than single-area liposuction. The recovery is more demanding — and the result more transformative.

  1. 01 · The Consultation

    Mapping the full circumference

Honest assessment of skin elasticity, fat distribution and proportion goals. Standardised photography from five views. We confirm whether 360 lipo alone is right, or whether tummy tuck or skin tightening should be combined or substituted.

  2. 02 · Preparation

    Conditioning the body

Six weeks smoking-free. Two weeks off blood-thinners. Maintain cardio fitness — recovery is meaningfully easier in fitter patients. Two full-torso compression garments bought ahead. Ten to fourteen days of clear social downtime arranged.

  3. 03 · The Procedure

Three to four hours, under general anaesthetic

Marking on the patient standing, before theatre. Tumescent infiltration through all zones, then PAL and VASER sculpting through small access incisions hidden in skin folds and the waistband line. Full-torso compression garment fitted in theatre.

  4. 04 · Recovery & Aftercare

    More demanding than single-area lipo

Full-torso compression 23 hours daily for four weeks. Lymphatic drainage from week one is essential. Walking from day one; light cardio at two weeks; full exercise at six. Most swelling resolves by six weeks; final shape at three to six months.

After

Recovery & aftercare

Recovery is real — full-circumference liposuction is more demanding than single-area. Compression and lymphatic drainage are not optional.

  • Wear full-torso compression garment 23 hours/day for 4 weeks, 12 hours/day for weeks 5–6
  • Sleep in the position most comfortable for you — a recliner is often easier than bed for the first week
  • Walk gently from day 1; light cardio at 2 weeks; full exercise at 6 weeks
  • No baths, swimming or saunas for 4 weeks
  • Lymphatic drainage massage from week 1 — significantly accelerates swelling resolution
  • Drink plenty of water; reduce salt
  • Attend reviews at day 1, day 7, week 6, 3 months and 6 months

Results

When will I see the result?

360 lipo results settle over 6 months as the entire midsection retracts.

  • Week 1–2 — significant swelling and bruising, contour difficult to assess
  • Week 6 — most swelling resolved, 70% of result visible
  • 3 months — close to final shape
  • 6 months — final result, scars matured

Questions

360 Liposuction in London FAQs

Is 360 liposuction more painful than single-area lipo?+

Recovery is more demanding because the entire midsection is sore at once — turning over in bed, sitting up, walking are all uncomfortable for the first few days. Pain itself is well-controlled; it is the cumulative discomfort of treating multiple zones that is the difference. Most patients describe it as 'more annoying than painful'.

Can I combine 360 liposuction with fat transfer (BBL)?+

Yes — and many patients do. The fat removed from the 360 contouring is the same fat re-injected for buttock or hip-dip enhancement. This is technically a 'BBL with 360 liposuction' and is one of the most-requested combinations in our practice.

What about loose skin after 360 lipo?+

Skin retraction is typically excellent in younger patients with good elasticity, modest in older patients, and unreliable when skin is already very loose. We assess this honestly at consultation. Patients with significant skin laxity may need additional skin tightening (RF) or a different operation entirely (abdominoplasty + body lift).

How is 360 lipo different from a tummy tuck?+

Liposuction removes fat. Tummy tuck additionally removes skin and repairs muscle separation. If your concern is loose skin or separated rectus muscles, 360 lipo will not address them — and aggressive abdominal liposuction in a patient with skin laxity can worsen it. The right operation depends on which problem dominates.
